PIA Gets IATA Safety Certificate 8th Time Apiece
ISLAMABAD: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has renewed and extended Operational and Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for the 8th consecutive time.
A statement issued by the PIA said the airlines had been successfully qualifying IATA safety standards since 2005 conducted by different accredited organizations.
IOSA standard covers all major areas of operations from flight operations, dispatch, cabin services, security services, ground handling, cargo operations, maintenance and engineering up to organisational management and control.
IOSA is a benchmark for global safety management in airlines, it stated. IATA members are registered and must remain so in order to maintain their membership. PIA is committed to aviation safety without compromising on operational safety, the statement added.
In his message, the chief executive officer air marshal Arshad Malik said that PIA always prioritizes the security and the receiving of certificate is the example of its measures in this connection.
He mentioned that the administration is working to make PIA profitable company by increasing the number of flights and to improve the facilities for the passengers.
